Microsoft Excel Level One

1 or 2 Day Courses available depending on experience and requirements.

 

This course is designed for anyone new to Excel as well as people who are using Excel but are struggling to understand or change existing spreadsheets. At the end of the course the learner will be able to produce professional spreadsheets, containing formulas and charts.

 

During the course the learner will practice their skills with skill reviews and exercises. An evidence of learning form will be completed during the course and verified by the trainer. This can be used to prove competency in the areas covered by the learner. A certificate of completion will also be issued.

 

·        An introduction to Microsoft Excel

·        Understanding the spreadsheet screen

·        Moving around worksheets

·        Building a simple worksheet

·        Inserting and deleting cells

·        Adding new columns and rows to a spreadsheet

·        Hiding and showing rows and columns

·        Changing the column width and row height

·        Copying and moving cells

·        Understanding and creating simple formula

·        Editing formula

·        Creating formula using AutoSum

·        Repeating your data or formula using AutoFill

·        Creating relative and absolute formula

·        Formatting a spreadsheet:fill colour and font colour

·        Formatting a cell including: decimal places, currency and percentages

·        Using date and number series

·        Adding, copying, displaying and renaming worksheets

·        Understanding and working with workbooks

·        Improving Efficiency: Using the format painter

·        Creating a chart using the chart wizard

·        Creating different types of charts

·        Formatting your chart including: chart options and colours

 

Microsoft Excel Level Two
1 or 2 Day Courses Available depending on experience and requirements

This course is designed for delegates who already have a thorough understanding of the subjects covered in Level one. They should have a good understanding of creating and editing spreadsheets and the basics of creating a formula.
During the course the learner will practice their skills with skill reviews and exercises. An evidence of learning form will be completed during the course and verified by the trainer. This can be used to prove competency in the areas covered by the learner. A certificate of completion will also be issued. At the end of this course the learner will be able to:

·        Creating and modifying custom lists

·        Using Autocalculate to find totals, averages, min and maximum values

·        Count and nested count functions: counta, countblank and countif

·        Conditional functions including IF and nested IF functions

·        IF/AND/OR Functions

·        Date and Time Functions including: Today, Now, Weekday and Date

·        Using the Vlookup and Hlookup functions to find information

·        Naming cells

·        Using named cells within formula

·        Formula auditing to understand and find errors in your spreadsheet

·        Adding comments to your spreadsheet

·        Working with multiple workbooks

·        Moving and copying worksheets

·        Querying and filtering data

·        Sorting data

·        Creating PivotTables and PivotCharts

·        Shortcut keys and Hints and Tips

Microsoft Excel Level Three
1 or 2 Day Courses Available depending on experience and requirements

This course is designed for delegates who already have a thorough understanding of the subjects covered in Level two. They should have a good understanding of formulas, charts and spreadsheet layout.  During the course the learner will practice their skills with skill reviews and exercises. An evidence of learning form will be completed during the course and verified by the trainer. This can be used to prove competency in the areas covered by the learner. A certificate of completion will also be issued. The course includes the following topics:

·        Creating Subtotals to analyse data

·        Advanced formula including financial functions

·        Database functions including Dmax, Dmin and Dsum

·        Text functions including: trim, concatenate and proper

·        Create and use data tables

·        Use goal seek on simple and more complex calculations

·        Create scenarios and scenario summaries

·        Methods of filtering records in a worksheet

·        Linking data

·        Creating macros

·        Macro security

·        Creating templates

·        Protection and security

·        Creating a data form
